In Memory of Takao Izumi Sensei
It’s with deep sadness that Ishikawa Judo Club shares the passing of our head sensei, Takao Izumi, on October 15, 2026.
Izumi Sensei’s judo was beautiful to watch, precise and effortless. He gave his time freely and always put the club and its members ahead of himself. Generations of students learned from him that judo is about respect and humility as much as technique.
Our thoughts are with his family and everyone whose life he touched.
Thank you, Sensei. You’ll be missed on the mat and off it.
