Ishikawa Judo Club
“Judo is the most effective way to harness the power of body and mind.”
Jigoro Kano, founder of judo
Welcome to Our Dojo
Rooted in tradition and open to all, Ishikawa Judo Club has been a home for Judo in Burnaby’s Japanese Canadian community since 1997. We are based at the Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Centre, where we have built more than just a sports club. We have built a community.
We teach Judo as Jigoro Kano intended: as a path to physical strength, mental discipline, and lasting human connection. Whether you are five years old or fifty, a complete beginner or a returning practitioner, there is a place for you here.
